Thought I saw where the CB had him pretty high on Clemson. Where did PSU all of the sudden come from?

He visited psu before coming to Clemson. Remember, he lives in B1G territory.

I read on a Penn site that he's visited there 6 times including last weekend but maybe part of that is because it's conveniently located to him. I think his crystal balls have always shown him as a Penn lean.

I hope the visit he had at Clemson for UofSC game, with DJ, left a big impression!

Dabo wants only the highest quality character which enables him to develop to Clemson standards. With Clemson able to take only 20-30 of the tens of thousands of high school players trying to get to college football each year, many of which are excellent players of high moral character, Clemson is going to miss on many quality players.
We see only snapshots of Dabo's recruiting plans. We usually don't get to see the whole picture until like 44-16 or something like that. Somehow I'm ok right now.

I think he would be a great get but I’m not gonna hold my breath. I could see him staying closer to home and playing for a Big 10 school.

I’ve been sad thinking about our DL being gone next year. Really going to miss those guys - their talent, leadership and great personalities. But if we land these new guys, it will really cheer me up! Go Tigers! Keep reloading!

Penn State is only 150 miles from his hometown. Clemson is 560.
Penn State is the closest "home town" team for the young man of all the teams he is considering.
Does not mean he won't be a Tiger, just that it is not surprising that Penn State is a contender.

Dabo has been able to sign players that live in the shadows of LSU, UofSC, Georgia, Alabama and many other schools. Don't see this young mans recruitment any different.

Interestingly, Penn a state has by far the most players in the Transfer Portal at 11.

I think the next highest is Arky at 7. So Penn State is the highest BY FOUR.
To me, that does not speak to a great culture. But, I guess you never know.
Hope he chooses well!

Can't imagine why anyone would choose to play for James Franklin over Dabo Swinney. Franklin left Vanderbilt in a train wreck - and aren't something like 10-11 players lookign to transfer from Penn State this year?
Pat Narduzzi seems like a good guy and a viable option to stay home - but you're not going to be playing for Championships beyond Charlotte there in the next four years.
