I think Sanford Stadium is the name of the complex and the field itself will be named after Dooley.

Like ours is Memorial Stadium and Frank Howard field.

What did Dooley do?
Erkskine Russell won the 1980 national title. Dooley was just along for the ride. What happened after Erk left??? Bunch if mediocrity is what.

I would have thought Dooley would've received that honor years ago. Maybe they were being extra cautious about naming something after living person.

I met Vince nearly 40 years ago and ran into him several times after. It's not much to judge someone by, but he always seemed to be a very nice guy; very pleasant and genuine. Never heard of his having an attitude or stuff like that.

Remember too, during part of Dooley's tenure at UGA, his brother Bill was HC at UNC. How could 2 pretty decent guys from the same family wind up at 2 such wayward schools? Just kidding, Vince...sort of.

Congrats to Vince. Quite an honor.
