People have been crushing Boyd about going 0-3 to SCar as a starter and thus eliminating him as Clemson's best QB ever. In the late 70's UGA was probably considered to be just as big of a rival to Clemson as SCar. People forget that S. Fuller (who many feel is the best Clemson QB ever) lead Clemson's offense to only 7 total pts in 3 starts vs UGA including 2 shutouts. His record vs them was 1-2, but that is only because we beat them one year 7-6 in a game where the offense basically did nothing. Even though offense was harder to come by back then, can you imagine the heat Boyd would get if he got shutout twice by a rival. Stuff like this from Fuller along with the fact that he went 3-8 vs ranked teams in his career is why Boyd despite his problems vs SCar is still right in the middle of the discussion as Clemson's best QB ever.

I didn't realize 7-6 was a shootout and if our d held them to 6 pts we would have beat them all three years Tajh was the starter

the same fashion that we've owned SCAR.

Winning one of three versus Georgia at that time was a monumental achievement.

Up until that 7-6 miracle in between the hedges, there had been only two wins over The Dawgs since 1914 and no wins in Athens.
