Is this the national perception of Clemson's victory at AU?

Sep 6, 2016, 9:06 AM

My guess is this is the SEC's take on the game through their SEC colored glasses, but it is very evident that the author of this article is an Auburn fan. Clemson didn't come close to playing their A game and the offensive playcalling was pedestrian at best.

I especially like this part of the article:

It took a while to find the words to explain the emotion. Then, it struck me: the better team lost.

Clemson--who will probably be in the playoffs again this December--didn't belong on the same field with Auburn. If Gus doesn't treat the game like a high school jamboree, play quarterback roulette, try to resurrect plays not seen since General Neyland roamed the earth, and otherwise kill any bit of chemistry and momentum the offense found, Auburn wins that game by two touchdowns.

"Gamecocks aren’t ready to take college football by storm just yet. They’re not even ready to compete in their own state – Clemson will still own the territory. Gamecocks fans would be smart to keep their heads buried until that time. Avoid talking trash to a much better Clemson program.” -Dustin Tackett

Not by a long shot. This story wreaks of homerism from a fan***

something tells me no based on the title.

Sec propaganda. If we had chemistry Saturday on offense it would have been a blow out.

While to realize they've lost their biggest assets, coaching. They just haven't hired well the last several years just look at Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, UGA, and Missouri their new coaches are several steps below who they repaced.

Sour grapes justification of a LOSS.

In the end win the game. Survive and advance.

Coach and correct along the way. That's the consistent message that Dabo delivers on.

The better team lost????? Well, not only did they lose, they trailed in every stat. 1st downs-Clemson. Total yds- Clemson. Passing yds -Clemson. Rushing yds- Clemson. Time of possession-Clemson. Score-Clemson. Auburn did lead in one stat......turnovers.

They lead in penalties too. Let's give em credit where it's due.

Bottom line is, rankings are like the stock market....

Sep 6, 2016, 9:28 AM

not meeting expectations... stock goes down.

What they do not see, is that Clemson is the only team in the top 25 that won on the road. All the others that played on the road lost. LSU, Notredame, UCLA, UNC (Georgia Dome was a home game for the bulldogs, Ole Miss (FSU playing in Orlando qualifies as a home game), Oklahoma (Houston played at home at the Texans stadium, it is 7 miles from University of Houston to NRG Stadium) etc.

Typical yahoo clickbait. Anyone who actually is paying attention knows Auburn is nowhere close to the best team. Nice opinion piece though, and you know what they say about opinions....

No, but it might be the 5 mile radius perception around Auburn, Ala.
