Yes the refs stunk
But we lost it
Turn over not once, but three times. Two in the red zone, where a field goal was a chip shot.
Couldn't stop a shovel pass.... about a dozen times.
Couldn't get 1 yard.... in two tries.
That's why we lost. So suck it up buttercups. Be big boys and girls, Pitt won. Congratulations to them on a hard fought game.

That is all true, well said. Doesn't make me less bitter at the phantom calls that went against us, but the rational part of my brain knows you're right.

of what happened could happen. All the failed third downs, then a flag comes flying out for some made up reason, allowed them to stay close. Yes, we should have overcome all that, but the point is we shouldn't have to play against the refs too. Doesn't make it impossible but it does make it tougher. And that's what somebody wanted. Was it the coot ref? Did Swofford send out direction? It doesn't matter. We lost. All the Loserville chirping about the refs in their game and we get a phantom hold call from some judge 30 yards away in the end zone. Great.

No doubt the refs created opportunity.
Doesn't change the facts. If we execute and take care of the ball, the refs are a non issue. It's on us, not the refs.

PI on uncatchable balls.
Holding when the player didn't even touch him
Subjective personal fouls
Stopping a play for review after the snap
And worst of all, they didn't call those fouls both ways. Our players were shoved to the ground and actually held, too.
