We gave their defense plenty of time to get set every play. No speed, no intensity, just 100% garbage. We gave their receivers plenty of cushion in what appeared to be the softest zone coverage in Venables' tenure. We gave up with that horribly executed fake punt. We gave plenty and it cost us the season.

Tighter Press coverage wouldn't have ended up getting beat over the top with heaping helpful of holding and PI's calls. I don't suppose their QB actually had the arm talent or receiver talent to make us pay.

I reckon Venables knows the deal. The DB cushions on the late drive were disappointing. Hated we didn't get off the field and at least get a shot with the O.

For me? It's hard to watch that game and not give Syracuse credit.

Wish we would have played better. They had a lot to do with it.
