Big name hires

Move Jeff Scott to OC, which leaves a WR coach vacancy. Then Dabo needs to make a youtube video to Jon Gruden offering him the WR coaching position, since Jon Gruden live during Monday Night Football discussed how amazing it would be to work with Clemson WRs. Make the video go viral and see what he says, never hurts to try.

I was thinking about that - doing something for Jon Gruden, even if we pay him $1/year and it's just an honorary title.

I would be very surprised by that

as WR coach, you are responsible for all indy work, position meetings, film work, etc... It's easier if the OC is the QB coach, b/c most of your breakdown work is with them anyway.
If he were to remain the WR coach, it would be in "name only", and it would mean there is a GA they really trust to do it.

hire Willy Korn away from Charleston Southern

to coach WRs...
Having Jeff on staff will curb the inexperience factor for him. It will still be his group, and he'll learn under one of the best in the business. It free's Jeff up from his WR duties, but still allows him to mentor Korn.
You gotta think Korn would be here a long time, and is likely a very bright up and comer. Dabo has an eye for that kind of stuff.

gotta hire one either way if Scott is promoted

I don't see a scenario where Scott is promoted, but continues as WR coach. That's a lot, even for experienced guys.
It's different when the OC is the QB coach.
If Dabo does promote Jeff, he's gonna have to hire both a QB and WR coach anyway.

good question... I'll have to look that up

if so, Dabo may have to get a little creative...
I guess it's possible he could turn QBs over the Jeff, if he was the OC. It's not a hard position to coach, especially if you've been doing it as long as Jeff has on the offensive side.
I could see that happening if there is a coaching numbers issue

to see Jeff take over QBs as well. Either that, or Dabo gets creative with the staff. I just don't see any scenario where Jeff remains WR coach, and serves as OC... unless there is a really good, trustworthy GA to basically take over the group...
all of this assuming Jeff is the guy

I want you to be QB coach and hire me on as WR coach. I could teach that Scott kid a thing or two.

Jeff is going to Coach WRS. We don't have room on the staff for 2 new Coaches. We have to get a QB Coach.

I don't see Dabo asking that of a first year OC unless there is a GA they really trust to do most of it.
WR position meetings, film work, indy work, etc... all take a lot of time. It's a large group of guys as well.

Hey - while we're on the subject of QB coaches... I really, really hope we make an offer to Tajh of some sort, to put him on the payroll - if he wants. I know he's young and still has some time to make it in the NFL, but if it doesn't pan out, we owe it to him to give him a slot somewhere - whether that's color commentating, a QB coach or a recruiter - something. He's one of the reasons we're assembling this roster of young talent we're putting together and he's as committed to us as any Tiger we've ever had. He's got his degree and I'm sure has to be struggling financially. If I were him, I'd give the NFL another shot (and I do think he could be a fit with the right program), but in the event it doesn't work, he needs to come back to us.
