Big 10 has not deserved benefit of the doubt

Nov 6, 2019, 8:59 AM

This is what urks me.

Remember 2015 when Iowa went 12-0 in the sorry big10? They were about to get into the playoff picture, lose to Mich St for only Mich st not to score a single point in the semifinal.

Big10 hasn't scored a freakin point in 2 playoffs since O310 won it back in 2014. They have not deserved any benefit of the doubt. Clemson and Alabama have because we both have shut out a big10 opponent in the playoffs and have each won two championships.

Committee needs to learn that.

I seriously doubt the playoff committee discusses 2015 Iowa

very much when making their 2019 list.

Nobody "deserves" the benefit of the doubt..not even Clemson***

good for you. but when we are playing just as well as we did

when we ran roughshod over the playoff teams, it certainly should matter.

The ACC was the best football conference in the country in

2016. In 2018 and 2019 it's been the worst. This year it's so bad that if you were to remove Clemson from the conference, the remaining 13-team ACC would actually rate worse than the AAC! Things can change very quickly in college football.

The 2015 Big Ten is beyond irrelevant right now.

I'll predict that the 2019 Big Ten will prive to be irrelevant in less than 2 months as well. In 2019 they have no good OOC wins as a conference, and I don't see that likely to change.

Comparing Ohio State this year to Iowa and Michigan State in 2015 is complete nonsense.

IMO, Ohio State is far and away the biggest threat to Clemson this year. I think they would beat both LSU and Alabama by min 14 points. Besides the sorry schedule so far, their main weakness is not having faced serious opposition and difficulty yet. We don't know how they would react to getting their chops busted for a half or longer by another athletic team.

Let's keep discussion about 2019.
