Best store-bought Salsa Brands?

Jun 12, 2020, 10:48 AM

What's your fave when you can't make your own?

I recently made the mistake of buying the "On the Border" brand. #### tastes like tomato paste with cumin dumped into it.

You can't beat a fresh, homemade pico. But sometimes, you just want some runny, red stuff. What do you buy?

Trader Joe's salsa verde is pretty good. I'll normally just get Pace or Tostitos brand though.

big fan of Mateo's

Costco carries their yellow label (mild / medium)

Every now and again we can find the red label (hot) and it's great too.

They often have SB salsa in the refrigerated section, too.

Jun 12, 2020, 11:11 AM

Fresher than the chip shelf version.

Publix Greenwise Brand

Jun 12, 2020, 11:44 AM

Medium for wife and I to share
Mild for the kids

She buys some Gringo Fresh Salsa and it is great, but once you open it, you gotta eat it within a couple days (so we end up wasting $4 each time probably)

2024 purple level memberringofhonor-greenr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Gringo, huh?

Jun 12, 2020, 11:56 AM

I WON'T STAND FOR THIS!

I mean, I was gonna get up and get some lunch in a second, but that's different, and has nothing to do with my figurative use of the word 'stand'

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I was wrong. Green Mountain Gringo is good, but that aint

Jun 12, 2020, 12:08 PM
