Best Clemson Player Question?

Jun 25, 2014, 11:42 AM

There was a post earlier today about CJ being the best player ever at Clemson.

IMO, there's no way to ever say who the best single player has ever been. CJ didn't play defense - guys like Terry Kinard didn't play offense.

IMO it should be who the most valuable player has been - then maybe you can get more specific.

I think CJ is without question the most exciting player

to ever play at Clemson, though Sammy comes close. The reason I don't have a problem calling CJ the greatest is because of how he could impact a game, which in my opinion sets him apart from the others. He could score literally every time he touched the football. Entire defenses were schemed to stop him, and yet they couldn't. And some of the numbers he put up in big games were staggering. He was a once in a generation talent at the college level. Just my 2 cents.

"Because at the end of the game, everyone knew that they weren’t that much better than us or better than us at all."

Generally agree but really a lot of the same could be said

of someone like William Perry or even Michael Dean. Granted, they did not score, but either could shut down a drive. I would even argue that Woolford was every bit the shut down corner as Neon Deion but was overshadowed by Sanders's speed, punt returns, and personality.

I think it has to be a QB because they make the biggest impact. Fuller, Jordan, Boyd, and Dantzler made huge impacts.
