Bentley is facing a good defense on the road this Saturday

If he passes this test, maybe he's legit.
So far he's been at home ... against two really horrible teams and one good team that started strong then sort of went into a death spiral.
He beat UMass ... well, so did everybody, but Wagner.
He beat Mizzu ... well, so did several teams including East Tennessee State.
He beat Tennessee ... meh, okay. Gotta give him props here.
Can he hold up in a hostile environment against a Gator team fighting desperately for the SEC East title and a shot at the SEC Championship.
If he can, then that changes a lot of things.
We'll see ...

I'd actually hoot and holler and cheer loudly for that to happen. For exactly the same reason you always root for the fat guy with zero talent at the Toughest Man contests. We've all seen that guy; he's the palooka, the clod, but Oh My, can he take a punch, and he huffs and puffs his way to a couple of unlikely wins and gets to be a huge Crowd Fav before some cold-eyed MMA guy utterly decapitates him in Fight 3.
So many of you guys lack a feel for real cruelty. Ask anybody who has a younger sibling - you have to give them some hope before you go and utterly crush their soul again. If you just beat them relentlessly they hang their heads and get used to it.

Bentley beat half of Tennessee. The other half is either in traction, or has transferred out midseason.
There was some karmic correction going on in Tennessee anyhow. What I suspect happened is that Butch Jones had heisted that Golden Horseshoe that Les Miles once kept permanently stuffed up his butt, and was savagely misusing the thing, waving it around on the sideline, as I once said, like Lord Sauron with the One Ring. You don't do that; it tempts fate. It did get Butch some wins early, magical wins - against the likes of App State (where UT fumbled into the end zone and recovered the game-winning TD, in overtime), Virginia Tech (7 fumbles!), and got a Hail Mary answered against UGA, but that was just way too much undeserved good fortune all at once and of course, the Cosmos duly heard, and intervened. The only thing that hasn't happened to UT yet since then is a plague of locusts descending on their field. And the locusts are probably coming. Whatever, I think the Vols are down to, like, their fifth-stringers in some spots.
I guess the moral of the story is, you do not misuse Les Miles' Golden Horseshoe like Butch Jones did. It gets you beat by South Carolina.

Florida's defensive stats are grossly inflated....

as the result of playing an incredibly weak $EC Least schedule, UMass and North Texas.
When they finally played an offense with even a hunt of a pulse (Arky is ranked 51st in total offense), they got their a$$es handed to them.

Let's get real here , UF has a decent defense but their offense is as bad as the Coot's offense. I expect a Gator win , but in the order of another " instant classic " ...along the 19-13 lines .

for all I care.
I'll start giving him a look on Nov 20th.
For what it's worth, I think the SC-UF game is a toss up. Other than the fact that I pull for the ##### to lose every game, I don't much care who wins.
