This time last year Jackson Carman was a far cry at best at being a tiger. Justyn Ross was a heavy lean to Alabama until signing day and even had Saban dancing in his living room and sending his mother flowers at work. Mario Goodrich had LSU named as his leader. Lyn-J Dixon was committed to Tennessee. Trevor Lawrence was expected at Tennessee and didn't have a single expert prediction to Clemson when he committed.... That's just from last years recruiting class. It turned out pretty decent in the end I'd say.

Not too bad to win a national championship with a RB playing LB and a bunch of 2-3 stars... Our coaches might actually be good at their jobs with a track record like this.

If my memory serves me well, wasn't the Tenn thing with Trevor very early in his recruiting?

I remember the talk being that it was basically a Clemson vs Georgia battle by the time he made his decision.

Almost all CB's were to Tenn and he had 1-2 to UGA because his parents were and he grew up Vols fans. Tee Higgens was a late pickup also over Tenn due to location.

I remember Higgins.

I don't look at CBs. My basis for what I thought on Lawrence was what I read and heard. There wasn't a ton of talk about it though because he didn't have a scheduled commitment ceremony type thing. He just did it and got it over with.

That may be the reason for the lack of crystal ball action.

Who knows.
