A simple $80 ticket (that would likely have been thrown out if she showed renewed registration at her court date) turned in to a tasing. I like it. I like it a lot.

To go from "no I'm not signing" to "you're under arrest" in 5 seconds was pretty big. Mail her a summons with an additional fine.
Pointing the gun was really the only thing I have a problem with, but I'm guessing that's part of their training protocol on anyone that flees?
Throwing her out of the car, tasing her when completely refusing to cooperate, I'm okay with all that.

You flee from an office after he's made a stop and see if you get a gun pulled on you.
The answer is yes. The 'stop' is an arrest. She fled. She deserved everything she got.
Just sign the ticket and get on with your life. Especially with an expired tag FOR 6 MONTHS.

30 days and send proof with the ticket (at least in every state I've lived in).
So yes, the stupid woman escalated it by fleeing, but she wasn't detained for recklessly driving or anything of that sort, just mail her summons with an extra $5,000 fine or something.

Yes, I might have a problem not doing my registration on time, but every time I've got a ticket for it, I go get registered and they tell me I can dismiss the ticket.
Granted, I am compliant with police officers and often very polite.
You'd think making this post I would feel more compelled to do my registration, which expires in June, even have the bill next to me at my desk...but I haven't done my inspection, and with city and county tax on the car I have to pay $260 on a 2012 Explorer...

The gun part was way overboard. It was a perfect storm. You had the belligerent lady who thinks rules don't apply to her, coupled with an over the top cop. I enjoyed that video.
