You should try submitting a post on T-Net asking if anyone driving to the game has an extra seat available in their car. Make sure to disclose your goal is to go to the game as cheap as possible, so you won't be offering any gas money and you would appreciate it if they could offer you an extra ticket for free and cover your food and hotel expenses. Since there's no cost to sit behind the wheel, you should offer to do your share of the driving, however only if they are willing to cover the cost of any speeding tickets. Shop around for flights...too far to drive unless you have a ton of time. Getting around by car in Boston is no fun, either. We rented an apartment in Charlestown through VRBO.com, typically cheaper than hotels in town, , and to me more comfortable. Don't rent a car, stay close enough to a "T" station and ride the train to the game and into town. It's a fun trip and the fans at BC are generally welcoming, we were given a lot of free beer.
