Basketball Leadership Question

Mar 20, 2017, 5:09 PM

This is about players, not coaches. It seems we had weak floor leadership this year. I mean someone to get in a players face when needed. My question is do we have any returning players who might be this kind of player next year? I don't know enough about the players' personalities to hazard a guess.

I totally disagree about your take on leadership.

By it's nature it starts at the top. It is a coach's responsibility to both 1) recruit kids that show leadership qualities and 2) develop leadership among your players with what you have. If you have no team leadership in the locker room or on the floor, that fault lies squarely with the head honcho.

Marquise Reed there - each has been around two years and show some fire and commitment. It doesn't just happen though.
