Dec 12, 2019, 1:47 PM

I'm right on for alcohol when it all settles out.

One trip to Vegas would put way over if you count in getting out there and lodging.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would live in a double wide in Townville and spend 90%

Dec 12, 2019, 1:51 PM

of my income on boating and boating related trips if I could get away with it. Guess you could file that under the alcohol category though, since they do kind of go hand in hand.

See how being a family man ruins everything.

Dec 12, 2019, 1:56 PM

I needed to be a little bit better of an influence on you youngsters.

I've still got my boat and am planning a trip this

spring/summer. Problem will be convincing the wife to leave the baby with grandparents for a few days while we see how far south we can make it on the intracoastal.

Kind of nonsensical data.

Dec 12, 2019, 1:54 PM

Seems like all spend the same on alcohol, it's just a different percentage of income.

I wonder if those making 30k or less would only spend 5.5%

Dec 12, 2019, 1:59 PM

on alcohol, could they function better and break through to the next level.

This is why things like high government taxes on vices

Dec 12, 2019, 2:06 PM [ in reply to Kind of nonsensical data. ]

hurt the poor so much more than the wealthy. Poor guy making $20K a year will spend 2K on cigs, 1K on alcohol, etc.

But the lottery is what gets me. That's not an addiction, just pure dumbassery.

any sales tax hits poor folks harder. Difference is po' folks will probably pick a lower priced product to start with.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I've never bought a lottery ticket.

Dec 12, 2019, 2:11 PM

None, not one. I'm afraid I'll win and ruin my life, the lives of my children and spoil Dabo rotten.

never picked numbers.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I have bought maybe 10 over the years

Dec 12, 2019, 2:59 PM

When it gets over the amount where I could live fat forever on 1% interest.

I bought one for the second highest lottery payout (at the time) at a Murphy gas station on Hwy 1 in Lexington. Payout was north of $600 million. Went to bed. Woke up the next morning. Per usual I grabbed my phone. Went to check the local news on WIS and saw a SINGLE winning ticket for the $600 million was sold in Lexington. I clicked the article and read. Saw it was sold at the Murphy gas station on Highway 1 in Lexington. I fell out the bed literally getting to my dresser where the ticket was. Wasn't me.

Dude who won it remained anonymous, but lived in Red Bank and rented a trailer from my BIL's grandfather. Asked the manager one day and they sold like 1,100 tickets for that drawing. So that's the closest I've come to winning. Quit after that.

Based on that - people making < $30K spend 41% of their

That make sense.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'd wager they are also more likely to

partake in all of those vices weekly.
