Baseball or Basketball?

With all the talk about building a new Littlejohn, I have been wondering if the University would not get a better return on its investment if it chose to just rebuild Kingsmore instead???
For the cost it would be to build a new arena, I would think that we could build a very special baseball stadium and have money left over to invest in some other neglected sports. My thoughts are that our baseball team is still somewhat relavant on a national scene and a new facility would put us back in line with a feathered friends. Whereas, our new basketball arena and the costs associated with it, in my opinion, will not make us any more relavant than we already are...
Thoughts????

is able to bring in other sources of revenue. Baseball does games..thats about it. Basketball can do games, concerts, high school graduations, etc

think about it.
The costs to transport 20+ players and the large amount of equipment for many many away games.
Cost of the various equipment.
Upkeep of the field.
Recent renovations to the stadium.

It's not that far behind other facilities. In fact, it isn't behind at all in terms of press and fan amenities, it just needs some work done on the part the players use everyday. Littlejohn has many more deficiencies than Doug Kingsmore does.

is on TV a lot more than baseball. How many times do you see Clemson baseball on TV? Put the money toward basketball first and then deal with baseball. Football and basketball are the main money makers. Need them both to be more successful than baseball

4 times on ESPNU, 4 on CSS and 2 on FoxSportsNet South. The baseball project is much closer to being ready, so do that first since it's the easiest to finish. Most importantly, do the Doug Kingsmore project right the first time so that they don't come back 5 years from now and wish they had done more, like they did with Littlejohn a decade ago.

but 10 times compared to every ACC game and about 4 non conference games isn't close. Also CSS probably doesn't pay that well and how many have CSS

But 10 times is a lot more than it was 3 or 4 years ago...

and most people that have cable have CSS. Everybody in the Upstate that's on Charter or Northland has it. I believe Time Warner also carries it. Baseball is a much bigger sport than its detractors want to admit.
