Bama Players suspended (Maybe Germans)

Sep 26, 2019, 11:36 AM

So Bama made it sound like the 3 players were suspended for violating team rules last year. Now it's coming out that they were suspended by the NCAA. Was there something posted about what the did to get suspended or is that hush, hush because it's Bama and they do not want to let it get out. Why only 6 games as well? Most suspensions are usually for an entire year of for the remainder of the year in question. Seems something is up about this.

Just did a little research and found that a positive test for marijuana is mandatory 6 games if the test is conducted by the NCAA. The rule is actually written as "suspended for half a season" because it applies to all sports.

We have seen in the past that players can be suspended for a game or two for a positive weed test, but apparently those suspensions and tests are done at the school level.

If the Bama players got 6 games, then that is almost certainly what happened.

I tend to think that it was something more serious that was self reported. The initial suspensions were by Alabama, but Sabah said that they were for NCAA violations. Self reported violations generally do not come with as severe of a penalty. If they got 6 games after self reporting, I would not think it is for pot.

A good question for those of you who are fans of Mr Finebaum to ask the no. One Bama fan!

Anything illegal is "violating team rules."

It's their euphemism.
