beernet. Wicked Weed and Goose Island

Nov 26, 2017, 11:15 AM

last night had a Wicked Weed Plainsdealer. Bourbon barrel aged American Sour Ale Fermented with Lemon Zest. 8% ABV. It's a really good beer, I'm liking sours more and more.

Also, daughter of brought me a Goose Island beer: Bourbon County Brand Stout. Says on the label it's the Original Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout. It's 14.1% ABV, so I need to plan ahead to drink it, not just through it in on top of my other pre-game beverages. Apparently it's a sought-after beer, just released on Black Friday, but she found one at the local Krogers that has the best beer selection.

wit Goose Island being a ABB high end beer, I'd say they cut distribution deals with Kroger, big chains, and blow some out the door quick in this time frame. But a good beer? We'll see, maybe open for the ACCCG. Label says it ages well up to 5 yrs.

BCBS is my favorite BA Stout by far.

It'll be good now although slightly "hot". Even still, it's very balanced. I like to age the regular BCBS and the BC Barleywine for a few years, but the Coffee variant is better consumed sooner than later to keep the coffee from fading out. @Rryanadidas and I got a nice black friday haul.
