BC not

Jan 2, 2020, 5:46 PM

Making the ACC proud.

Well they were terrible this year so that's not shocking

Jan 2, 2020, 5:48 PM

I thought they rolled over easier for us than just about anyone on our schedule. They were about as bad as NC State.

Big drop-off in the BC offense without A.J. Dillon...

Jan 2, 2020, 5:51 PM

They're still not a particularly good team but they're better with him than without.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Wish we could trade BC and Miami for Cincy and Memphis. It would upgrade the ACC in both football and basketball.

... and a huge downgrade in academics. This year sure they are better in football and basketball but doubt that is the case long term.

BC and Miami bring nothing to the table, as far as athletics. I’m talking athletics, not academics. I’ve yet to hear anyone say, Clemson has played a cupcake football schedule this year, but the ACC sure has a tuff grinding academic schedule to deal with.

We will just have to disagree on this point. It's COLLEGE athletics - to me that means academics and education matters. Dabo emphasizes the academic excellence in the Paw Journey.

I’m not disagreeing with you on the academic side of this conversation. I’m just talking athletics. Well, mainly football. Who would you trade for?

Re: BC not

I don't want to trade anybody.

In my ideal scenario, I would add Penn State and Notre Dame and be done.

I would like the ACC schools to get their act together on football. Pitt had a great football program at one time, along with Miami and VT. Syracuse and BC have been very respectable in the past. We just need them to get back to good.

I would be surprised if Miami ever really makes it back. They are a small private university, as I recall. FSU will be back. I don't think BC will ever be better than average. Their last real claim to any kind of fame was when they kind of lucked into a pro quarterback. I was surprised to recently see on this board that Virginia Tech's recruiting has apparently always been pretty mediocre. They just did really well with what they got, but those days may be gone as well.

Miami has far more potential than either of the teams you

mentioned. Heck, even Richt had them as high as #2 a few years back. They have tons of highly touted players, and like FSU, with the right coaching they could succeed at a very high level.

I'm not sure if Miami will ever get back to where they used to be, but I'd still take them long term over Cincinnati and Memphis in football.

Cincinnati is a Great team this year. This was never going to be a game

Jan 2, 2020, 6:54 PM

Cincy even played Ohio State tough

Bucknuts beat Cincy 42-0.

But if your city ever needs to end a drought, a surefire solution is to invite BC to a bowl game.
