Atlatls legal hunting method for deer in Missouri

Was reading the rules and regulations for legal taking methods. The last one on the list is an Atlatls, or a primitive spear throwing device invented in the Stone Age.

Anyone ever used on? Should I get one instead of using a high powered rifle w a scope?

and also guided hunts as a side gig. He showed me picks of him hunting hogs with spears, and with a knife. You might call that a man's man....or just plain stupid.
