I saw Anthony play two games in high school and it was obvious he heads above everyone else. Glad he chose Clemson.

"I think the game, it’s not very fast for him," defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said to The New Orleans Advocate. "He’s been really well-coached in college, he understands football, he loves football, so he’s learning at a very quick rate, and that’s awesome. That you can see with no pads on."
chris simms ain't gonna like this.

The fact that Ryan made it a point to compliment Anthony's coaching in college is great for the program. It's certainly something we can take to recruits (on top of the draft stats) to show them how well we'll prepare them for the league.

Although he never reached a Sammy-level ceiling, he consistently improved and did his job. I expect his physical tools will make it easy to continue that progression at the next level.

But I agree that perhaps the MVP of that defense - Grady J - was very much under appreciated, as was Anthony (and even Wiggins).

Defensive recruits has to take notice when NFL defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, that is in his 17th NFL season, and he says that He (Stephone Anthony) was WELL-coached in college. Great job Brent Venables!!!!! Hopefully recruits are seeing and hearing that. Brent Venables also coached the #1 all around defense in the country at Clemson. So when recruits are hearing their SEC friends, and other coaches that are recruiting them saying things like, Clemson isn't where they need to go, well Clemson is exactly where they need to be. Well coached players make it to the NFL, and NFL coaches are saying that Clemson players are well coached in ??.

There is no "might have" to it. NO did get a steal by getting to wait to #31. He will be a huge asset from the get go to them or any other team he might have landed on.

Anthony was a great value, but Jarrett was a STEAL.

Hard for me to use the term "steal" fora first rounder.

Huge difference in $ for #31 vs a lower pick. I'd say that was a steal. Just like I'd say Clowney did the stealing himself based on his contributions. That could change, for better or worse. Time will tell.

I agree that Jarrett was an even bigger steal. Both should have gone higher, and yes, Grady should have been a 1st rounder, too. My guess is he will make his team look like thieves when he puts on the show I'm confident he will put on. Nobody has stopped him yet, and I don't expect that to change much.

Tre Lamar could be coached up like Anthony to move on to the next level. None better than Venables.

I could definitely see a Tre Lamar Rashaun Smith combo in the future being a lot like the Anthony and Steward combo from this year.
