Will GT ever fire PJ and get a “modern era HC”?

Feb 7, 2018, 12:54 PM

I honestly believe that he discredits the entire ACC by continuing to run that antiquated & outdated Offense...and presents NO CHALLENGE to uGay in recruiting the best players in the state.

As long as we have BV I hope ole Pauley stays forever.

I’m just glad recruits keep hearing stuff like that. When he has players that offense scares me more than anybody else on our schedule.

Attended the 100th Clemson vs. USC game on a broken ankle from 8 hours earlier. Got a recliner in the endzone for the 100th game...it was worth it. Story in Profile.

Thank goodness they haven't gotten a spread offensive

coordinator that likes to throw the ball all over the place in contrast to UGA and others who compete for players in the area. We may have missed out on some great quarterbacks and wide receivers and championships.

They may have a chance to move the ball on us this year..

the one man wrecking (pun intended) crew known as DO'D is off to the NFL. That guy almost single-handedly destroyed the GT offense every year he was here.

Hope not. I enjoy beating them.***

The problem with Tech boosters are, they're generally

satisfied with going to bowl games, so they don't really have any reason to run him out of town any time soon.

Also, if they fire him, they'll all have to implicitly admit he's not the brilliant tactician they've been telling everyone he is for the last 10 years.

Dipshitula thinks Johnson is a genius.

As long as PJ is at GT it makes the ACC weaker

Feb 7, 2018, 1:23 PM

I like the fact he is there, because we have a good chance of beating them into perpetuity. But hate the fact that he cannot weaken uga in recruiting. I do think they could fire him, but it will take multiple 1-3 win seasons for them to do it.

They have now fallen into the trap that is the veer option/triple option. This offense is designed for teams that have lesser talent (see the service academies), and it works well in FCS. But when a legitimate power 5 school adopts it...well it becomes a necessity to run it, because you do not have the talent to run anything else. No 5 star athlete (except maybe a true fullback) would want to run this system. Transversely, the defense is affected because they have to face it every day in practice.

uga may not be the only school whose recruiting in the state of GA would be affected if GT replaced Johnson.

I sure hope not!***

Paul Johnson is 5-6 vs Clemson.

Feb 7, 2018, 1:25 PM

I mean... I feel like there are other easier targets to pick on.
