Artavis Scott

Sep 8, 2015, 11:01 PM

So I went back and re-watched the Wofford game. Specifically Artavis Scott. My goodness.

He *literally* did not get tackled to the ground the entire game. Every time he was "tackled" it was a stand-up/forward progression or running out of bounds type of thing. Usually in those types of stand-up or out of bounds tackles with receivers it's ticky-tack stuff but in Artavis' case he's looking to make contact with people and fight for every inch. Just love it. Even on his punt return he only went to ground because he leapt over the guy and didn't quite clear him; it certainly wasn't anything the guy did to bring him down.

I don't care if it's Wofford, that's impressive.

Very close to breaking off a punt return as well. I think he should get full time duty at that, he's looked the most comfortable.

He just needs to learn that he doesn't have to try to catch every single knuckleball punt that comes toward him. He needed to get out of the way of two of those.

He's very strong. Will need hom and Peake moving forward.

He reminds me a alot of...

former Panther Steve Smith. Always fighting, fast, and tough as nails. Minus all the antics of course.

I love watching this kid play.

It was love at the UNC game last year when he caught the ball well short and then willed his way into the endzone with 2 and then 3 guys on him. He has the "IT" factor. I think McCloud is the same way and I love that the opposing defenses won't get a breather when Artavis is out of the game.

Completely agree!

And the play you're referencing. He left no doubt on the field on this play:

Huh.. I tried to link it to a specific part of the video, but it didn't take.

1:15 for those interested.

Artavis = Spider Man

he has quickly become my favorite player

He plays nasty and mean... refusing to go down. For a guy his size, that is very impressive. I love watching that kid.

As a few other people said over the weekend, I'm not sure we've ever had a receiver who gets so visibly "pissed" when people try to tackle him. It's pretty awesome to watch.
