Yeah. I'm just skeptical with these stories after practicing law. Fortunately, I no longer practice.
Someone could have knocked her down and she was disoriented. Nearly all chicks, even if drunk, are attached to their purses at all times like glue. I'm not sure of her incentive to make up a story because there's no insurance coverage for being mugged.

Sure there is.
Your homeowners insurance (or the homeowners insurance of her parents if she is still a dependent) covers this type of robbery or theft.
