Arkansas gets it. Its ok to go after a big name coach at

Dec 4, 2012, 4:06 PM

another school. When Clemson looks for coaches it seems they only look at coordinators or unemployed coaches. It is ok to aim high.

I think you're too stupid to understand that they do look at

Dec 4, 2012, 4:07 PM

them and it's kept under the table...

But no, didn't you read what amandadale said?!

"When Clemson looks for coaches it seems they only look at coordinators or unemployed coaches."

We didn't go after a big name!

Patterson would have left TCU for Clemson....

Dec 4, 2012, 5:24 PM [ in reply to Uh Clemson went after Gary patterson, but he doesn't ]

but at the time Clemson was not willing to pay Patterson the $2 million+ annual salary he wanted.

Great hire? What a joke he just went 7-5 in the worst football conference this year. That was a awful decision by Arkansas.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's also a career Big 10 guy....

Dec 4, 2012, 5:31 PM

with very limited if any recruiting experience in the south or southeast.

Saban spent some time at West Virginia and Miles was at Oklahoma State.

Wrong,we could have probably got him here but TDP wanted Dabo instead!

Big Name Coach?

Bret Bielema
Career Record: 7 Years, 68-24, .739 W-L% (Major Schools)
Bowl Record: 6 Bowls, 2-4, .333 W-L% (Major Bowls)
Major School: Wisconsin (68-24)
Big 10 record: 37-19

Yeah, great hire. You got to be kidding me people.

Re: Your the HC. Who would be your OC and DC?***

Dec 4, 2012, 4:31 PM

The sagacity of this hire will not be known until 3-4 years down the road, when he can implement his system. He has a bunch of spread players trying to fill his pro set until then.

IIRC, we had a pretty #### good team and one of the benefits to going with Dabo was keeping everything the way it was, but I am not melting down like many are on here.

Birds of a feather...Big Surprise there...***

how have Clemson's hires been so far?

Dec 4, 2012, 4:30 PM

Does anybody remember when Clemson went and hired the DC away from Oklahoma?

I guess you could complain about Clemson hiring those two nobodies for head coach and OC who have led us to an ACC title and two consecutive ten win seasons, along with a top ten offense.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

AFAIK, he has been complaining....***

You can't really be that stupid! It has to be a set up!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Also you forget that Ark wanted Bowden badly

Dec 4, 2012, 4:41 PM

also hired this clown to fill in for Petrino, how did that work out? Also they knew he was in all this legal trouble, yet still hired him. Yeah they get it, about as much as you do

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wisconsin fans wanted him out

Dec 4, 2012, 4:39 PM

go read their message boards. I like the guy, but he isn't a top 10 coach. If they wanted a great coach, they shoulda went Patterson or Peterson

Dec 5, 2012, 9:30 AM

to try to compare seems to reflect your unhappiness with Dabo. that rings on deaf ears. most everyone sees the progress of the program.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Tommy Bowden wasn't a coordinator or unemployed

Dec 5, 2012, 10:10 AM

He was the hottest coach in the country in 1998 after going 11-0 at Tulane.

And Hatfield was extremely successful at Arkansas.
