Spurrier Could Be Next Miami Head Coach
Sources say coach ready to leave South Carolina

According to sources late Sunday, South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier will likely be named the next head coach at Miami. Spurrier won a national championship at Florida, and made a handful of second-tier bowls at South Carolina, is believed to have plateaued in Columbia, and is looking for a way back to the national title game.

He won't be invited to join. Lou was asked to join when Hootie Johnson was Chairman. Hootie was key in getting Lou in, but he had a lot of support from influential folks like Joe Ford, Lou Gerstner and some other Corporate Folks.
Billy Payne, former GA Bulldog football player, is now the Chairman and does not like Spurrier. Spurrier also does not do the corporate speaking that Holtz did and has little to no support from the membership. There are also several members that have openly stated their dislike of Spurrier
I would be willing to bet that there is zero chance he will be asked to join.
