Are septic tanks expected to still work even after this monsoon?

Nothing but problems with my septic with these freak 2-3 inch dumping of rainfall from time to time. Now they’re calling for potentially 5 additional inches in the upstate???
These storms are killing my drain field and the tank Is already practically full. Anybody else struggling with this issue? I’ve got a riser on my tank so I can keep a check on it...We get another 5 inches and the top’s probably gonna pop.

Dig out the drain field to a dept of 10 feet. Haul in tons of gravel and sand. Fill the drain field 8 feet with that. Add topsoil. Replant grass.
Fixed.

My advice. Don't worry about it until everything dries up.
If everything goes back to normal afterwards, then was there ever really a problem to begin with?
If it doesn't go back to normal, then consult the Lounge for further advice.

What you do is use your bowling thumb like a lazy windshield wiper. Just graze the top of it like you're petting the nose of a horse. No pumping... just graze the top.
