Long Drives

What's the longest you feel you will drive on a road trip before you like to take a break and just chill for the night. I dont like this now, but when I was 17 I drove from LA basically to Chicago non stop 31 hrs. Anyway, the reason I bring it up is I have to drive to Wilmington in a week or two and think 11 hrs is just too long now. I will break it up and stop Savannah or someplace. Do you guys still plow through 11 hour drives?

Oh yeah. That is nothing. I would say 14-17 would be my max.
However, I like to stop and see cities and eat, so if traveling alone, I will stop after about 7/8 hours and chill. F Savannah though, I just do not get the appeal.

Anything more than 16hr of driving for me requires

a night.
Any drive less than 8hr I don't need to think about, can just go do that.
8-16hr drain me big time, usually need to have a nice stop like at a rest area that has those mini tracks.

widen my stance a little more.
Tilt your spine just a little to the back
And maybe use a little more loft.
These thing should help out a bit. Best of luck.

From Greenville to Hoboken, NJ. Probably could've gone 15-16 before I had to throw the towel in.

I enjoy driving, so I usually just keep going until I get

tired.
I do Atlanta to Tallahassee, FL, Jacksonville, FL, or Charleston, SC and back all the time in one day (~11 hours total).
The longest I've done recently is Indianapolis to Chicago back to Atlanta (~14 hours) in a single day.

I think it depends on the time of day of departure though. I can go a lot longer if leaving at 6 am than 6pm. Yes, I have started long road trips at close to 6pm. I had to work that Saturday and I had to be in Austin by 4PM Sunday.

10-12 hours used to be easy, but harder with kids and age

Could drive PA or NY to SC with no problems. Drove to Michigan and New Orleans was fine if in the right car (easier in a sedan, less fun in an SUV).
Longest 1-leg drive was Columbia to Dallas. So friggin' boring after a while.
When now travelling with kids, it feels better breaking them up into 4 hour segments.

Let me edit I was riding shotgun.
Later on we decided if it’s further than UVA or FSU it’s time to look for flights.
I hate driving. 2 hrs is about my max. if I’m behind the wheel.

If I had to go to NY right now, I would drive. If I had to go to LA, and I mean really had to, I guess I would fly.

driving to BC for the Flutie game and the gang had adult beverages. I think we stopped at every rest area between here and Boston, 24 hrs.
Coming back no drinking and we cut 5 hrs off our time lol.

Not even 11 minutes, maybe 11 seconds.
I can see 5-7 being my limit for a day.
