Anyone remember the 1983 season?

Most of you are probably too young to remember. Clemson lost one game that season and guess who beat them. That was a probation season for Clemson and they were not eligible for a bowl game or the ACC title. I doubt it will happen again but you never know. I'm a BC fan but I would also like to see an ACC team win the national championship. Just hoping for a good game.

Does Flutie have eligibility left?

Not a chance!

I just bet a co-worker laying 24. Should cover by halftime.

I'm aware of the definition. However, as a Yankees fan, I admit I have nothing left to do this year but try to take cheap shots at your username. Sadly, you are the champs. Enjoy the year of bragging rights.

I don't remember very much. I was taking 19 hours that semester and when I did get some free time I usually got pretty hammered.

My freshman year. Remember Flutie and a great offense. Not sure he is walking through that door.

I was a JR that year so vaguely.

I was a sophomore at Clemson during the 1983 season. For the BC game, Central Spirit made an eagle out of paper mache to kick around on the sidelines. At some point, a cheerleader or someone on the sidelines decided to put the dummy eagle over the cannon after a Clemson score. The crowd was delighted that the paper mache eagle was propelled forward with parts flying asunder. The cast aside effigy of the eagle was forgotten for a few minutes until smoke and a small fire arose from it, which was quickly snuffed out.

I thought the paper eagle catching fire was symbolic of how the Boston College team caught fire and whipped us in Death Valley that day.

Sorry to recant my statements in the previous post, but that memory was of the 1982 BC game at Clemson. All is accurate about the paper eagle and the small fire. Also, the Tigers were leading, but BC was able to tie the game in the end 17-17. The karma of disrespecting the opponent's mascot did apply.

Ford called for 43 yd FG on 3rd down in the rain and Igwebeke missed it. Next year we lead 16-0 at half in Chestnut Hills. Flutie picked apart our prevent defense in second half to win 31-16

I couldn't believe Donald missed that kick***

Graduated 1983 - remember those bogus violation charges too, as well as the way ABC treated us prior to and after the 81 UNC Game. Seemed like the whole world hated the fact that our awesome ACC team had made it all the way to beat Nebraska... have friends from Boston and I wish you the best, but a BC win is just not in the cards this week... ;)
