Anyone familiar with the Lexington area

Apr 14, 2015, 1:27 PM

I know there used to be a sign in the middle town that said, "Shaq!"... I was just told that the same sign now says, "Marquavius!"

Can anybody confirm this?

Yes its true. The sign is on Hwy 378 across from the Wal Mart. It has displayed the names of SUCs highest ranked recruit ... so previously displayed Shaq ... Jadeveon ... etc

Who or what is a Marquavious?

Sounds like a third world disease that you'd contract throough bugs and filth.

Marquavious Lewis or "Qua"...

is a DE transfer from some JuCo is Kansas and the highest-rated prospect in USC’s 2015 signing class. He did not qualify academically coming out of high school. He's also an older kid (he'll be close to 23 years old when the season starts). He's originally from Greenwood.

go thru there everyday, haven't seen said sign. Do you know what road it is supposed to be on? I travel US1 and US378, and haven't seen on the major roads.
Not to say it isn't on one of the back streets, you have to remember what program u are talking about there!

The sign is in front of some shops on Hwy 378. There are several shops in that strip mall - one of which is a Christian bookstore.

It started out with "Jadaveon!" then "Shaq!" and now it's "Marquavious!" Pretty stupid - certainly keeps me out of that shopping center.

They have some really great BBQ in that area.

Oh wait, that's Lexington NC.

You see how well Shaq worked out. This retail strip is never busy. Dumbest business decision ever to alienate at least 30+% of the local population. I foresee a bank owned commercial property and rookie stadium sweeper or gas pumper in the near future.

I grew up in Lexington.

Went to Lexington High School. The Clemson population was a lot higher than 30% back then.

Lexington has long been considered by Clemson folks to be an oasis in the Columbia area.

Lots of strong Clemson ties in Lexington County....
