Anyone else seeing an LSU/Alabama rematch?

Nov 13, 2019, 8:24 PM

LSU and Georgia go to the SEC championship game, LSU wins. With Georgia dropping, guess who moves back into the CFP standings?

Or, heck. For that matter, LSU loses. Guess who would still move back into the CFP standings?

Something tells me neither LSU nor Ga are as important to getting into the playoffs as Alabama. Tradition, history, been in it the most, Fedoras, hounds tooth Fedoras, etc.

With a win over Auburn, Alabama would be back at number .05 (give or take), OSU at 1.5, Clemson 2.5, LSU/Ga 2.5, then fill in the blanks.... OU at 3.5, Oregon 4.5.

Then the top 3 (fractions included) get in.... which includes guess who? After all, who's been in the CFP rankings the most? (OSU has to be included due to the most graduates [ie: money for ads], ESH-EEE-SHE has to proppered upper by EE-ESH-EEE-SPIN which means Spin, er uhm, Roll Dawgs/Tigers, et al. And Clemson is added to the list for validity while tossing a chicken bone to the West coast in Oregon. Or Stanford, UCLA or, who cares? Pick a team somewhere out there and include them).

My hot take? This is the last year Alabama can be included in the CFP without a riot.

And this is also concerning for Notre ("yo not" taking mah ### out ub da Top twenty pibe) Dame being ranked, University of Socialist [and un-American] Causes (typically), OSU, Pedophile State, Tax-us, and several other old dogs that get undeserved respect today for their past. Sort of like Penn and Dartmouth back in their day if they were included because they won 100 years ago.

Point being, Balammer will be in there come hell or high water. My two cents.

Why talk about the other teams bc they have it fixed for two or more SEC teams to play in the college FB playoffs. Clemson or OSU will most likely have to beat two SEC teams to win the NC this season, and if that happens, we're right back to where it ended with the BCS, and that is what the playoffs were supposed to end, and it would have worked if they would have stayed with the teams that win their conference championship game was in. I'm thinking that it will always be the best two of the SEC and who ever is undefeated within the other conferences!!!

I think as long as Oregon or Utah win out they will take that last spot

Alabama won’t make it in this year, barring chaos among teams 1-4.

I don’t think there is a conspiracy to get them into the playoffs at all costs. Yes, I do think Alabama gets the benefit of the doubt (and the benefit of their dominance over the past 10 years) but that isn’t enough to automatically get them in the playoffs.

I do think there is an SEC bias that is tied to cash. If it weren’t Bama it would be another. Maybe LSU. That’s only because in the SEC it just means more, of course...

Auburn will take care of

The Dawgs and Bama, so all of this angst is for naught. Heck, the Dawgs may not win the lEast...aTm is due one big win.

If LSU loses than Bama is out.

Your point about Alabama being in the playoff if UGA beats LSU is totally wrong.

UGA winning the SEC over LSU is the only way to guarantee Alabama is NOT in the playoff.
