talent, and it's hard to get that at Duke. A good offensive coach can do a lot with mediocre talent, but on D you really need the horses.
Cut is starting to recruit pretty well (for Duke at least), and it stands to reason that the defense will make some progress as the talent and depth improves.

Cutcliffe is an excellent coach. Ole Miss screwed the pooch when they let him go. I'm just glad he went to Duke, where he can do us no harm. Had he gone to UNC or NCSU, it might be time to be concerned. The dookies really couldn't care less abt football....and that's good for us.

Tennessee offered him the HC job and he turned it down. Probably more about job security and stability at this stage in his career, but thats inaccurate to say hes not considered HC material.

They're expanding their stadium to about 43,000, which is on par with the smaller schools in other conferences (Northwestern, Baylor) and they hired a good coach.
If you're concerned with conference image, this is a great thing. Duke probably won't get good enough to ever concern us (if our team is playing well), but will be good enough to represent out of conference.
