Anybody got a reco on a sun hat?

Apr 19, 2019, 11:08 AM

Need something to keep the sun off my ears and neck next month for Shaky Knees and our family slog to Orlando. Was thinking about a Duluth booney hat, because it's cheap and I think you can wash them. But mostly because it's cheap.

And before you ask, yes, I do plan on coordinating with white tube socks, velcro wallet, fanny pack, and a soulless, thousand yard stare.

This has become my everyday hat.

Sitting on my desk beside me right now, these are $29 at Southern States stores and wears well year round. I do have a straw cowboy hat that I wear in more oppressive summer heat though.

When someone walks into your office with a question

and you're kicked back with feet on the desk and that hat on, do you take the toothpick out of your mouth or leave it in before shooting them with your finger pistol?

I NEVER remove the toothpick.

And...'finger' pistol, LOLUTZ. Col. Colt didn't win the west with a 'finger' pistol.

Cheap?

THIS is cheap.

I bought one at the gas station down the street a few years back for like $10.00, except it was purple camo.

Primarily for the sweatband

I have a 6$ army surplus genuine booney hat too But the sweatband in the Duluth makes it my go to hot weather hat

Yes you can wash it

I take this to the beach, down rivers, etc.

baseball cap - the tried and true standard for decades

New Era preferable but other brands acceptable; fitted also preferable (7 1/2 for me), with brim properly bent AS GOD INTENDED.

Covers everything you need covering (maybe sunscreen the ears if you got Finebaum disease).
Wear anywhere and anytime, don't even need to take it off as night falls.

And the best thing about it is ---- nobody looks at you and chuckles.

2/10 brim not flat enough, need a size 12 to fit the ears***
