There is I suppose at least some upside to all Trump's feverish grunting and fumbling and general phuckery.
It forces people to take a hard look at stuff. Who do our politicians owe money to? What are their vested interests? How effective are the guardrails we have on our democracy - the Special Counsel, the neutrality of the DOJ and Supreme Court, the impeachment process. Can we prosecute or even successfully investigate a bent president, if the need should arise? And how secure is our media ecosystem and especially our electoral machinery from foreign or political influence?
Thanks to Trump and his rather graphic stress tests - which we passed in some areas and completely bombed in others - we do have a chance to shore up some of our worst weaknesses as a country and a culture.

Q,
What % of Americans do you think are looking at this election with your questions in mind ?
In reality, what % of Americans are looking at this election with questions (rather than conclusions) in mind at all ??

Stupid article...are they only talking about Cyber security? Seems so, but then they generalize.
Obviously there is a lot of fraud, 100s, 1000s maybe 10,000s of cases proven without a doubt as dead people voted all over the country. These are facts and are fraudulent votes. How it happened? Dunno, but it did and the votes should not count.
From that single data point, it can be argued the article is 100% bullchit and fake news.
I'm not suggesting there are 50k, 100k, etc. cases of fraud. Maybe so, but no proof exists that I have seen or heard about.
IOW, the "standard" level of democratic election fraud was not large enough to make a difference.

It is amazing to me that so many dead people are still on the voter lists. A friend of ours found out last week her uncle was still on that list and died over 2 yrs ago.

Did anyone ever stop to think about how that would work. How does the election commission find out if someone on their voter rolls have died ?
I don't know, but it must be very time consuming and it can't be easy to keep people from falling through the cracks.

A special committee appointed by Trump in 2016 to prove that the popular vote was rigged against him found Nada. Repeat - Trumps people investigating with extreme prejudice found no voter fraud.

All those dead people voting give me a break please. They need to purge the dead people for the voter register.

Most everywhere, failure to vote for two consecutive years causes one's name to be purged from the voter rolls. Not everyone who dies has family/executor that will spend the time going to the registrar to present a death certificate to remove someone from the rolls. It occurs on its own in two years.

Prove your "dead people voted" in this election claim.
Spoiler: It's already been debunked.
You and others here have repeatedly claimed fraud in this election, yet when challenged for evidence, you continue to fail to provide it.
And what is a person who continues to make claims but won't provide evidence when asked for it?
A liar.

I don't feel the need to call anyone a liar (may be counterproductive), but the promoting of ideas without supporting evidence is antithetical to the good of a democratic society.
And a number of you guys on here, continue to make baseless claims, despite repeated requests for supporting evidence - evidence that would benefit your discretion and the quality of discourse on this board.

NC,
1. I think you are right that the first contention of the article is about cybersecurity. Apparently those guys did an excellent job securing our election systems from the type of hacking that influenced 2016. Unfortunately, Trump is forcing them out for not reinforcing his election fantasies (see below)
2. You keep screaming about "a lot of fraud" and dead people voting and claiming there is absolute evidence of such. And yet you STILL have no idea of the numbers or the places. If 100s or 1000s of ballots are found to be illegitimate, that is NOT fraud, those are mistakes and an infinitesimally small % of votes cast.
Finally you acknowledge that these mistakes were an infinitesimally small and have no impact on the election, but you are still pisssedoff about the article. I don't get it.
All illegitimate votes should be thrown out, but that small number shouldn't be holding up the transition - nor getting us irrationally upset. No system is going to be 100% perfect.

Let's mail out ballots to everyone on a list and let them mail back their vote and call it the most secure election in history.
This is why we are in so much trouble as a society. There are people dumb enough to believe it.

Do you have proof that this leads to meaningful fraud - or is it just a feeling ?

our election system needs work. They did not perfect it this year and anyone with half a brain should be able to understand that mailing out massive amounts of ballots with little to no checks and balances is not a good idea.
