Without Alabama the sec would be nothing.

I would say part of that list is slightly misleading. I guarantee Alabama and Ohio State both have a lot of non-conf victories. They also just play a lot of neutral site games.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

pretty sure you helped my point. neutral site games.

Aug 9, 2018, 9:57 PM

clemson goes to other teams homes. that's why we will do home and homes with Georgia, Auburn, tex am. obviously you read where we are trying to schedule LSU at their place as well. bama with 6 true non conference road games in 17 years.

I can't really blame Bama, they get beaucoup coin for playing neutral site games. It's a business.

No, just a realist. I always get flack for the unpopular opinions...see pulse. It's comical really.

Then you can't blame any1.

Every1 gets paid well to play these neutral games.

And the only reason Florida's not #1

Aug 10, 2018, 7:31 AM

is because their 2 biggest rivals are non-conference. Otherwise they'd be at or around #1.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Florida's last non-conference road game other than MIA&FSU

Aug 10, 2018, 7:51 AM

was Syracuse in 1991

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and they lost.

Clemson vs non conference opponents on the road....

Aug 10, 2018, 8:25 AM [ in reply to And the only reason Florida's not #1 ]

Since 2000, Clemson played at Missouri, at TAMU, at Georgia twice, at Auburn once, and at SC 8 times.
We have played Auburn and Alabama in seasoning opening games in Atlanta.

I'd like to see us play more non conference teams from outside the southeast on a home and home basis like we did with Missouri and TAMU when they were both in the Big 12..

I'd like to see us play more Power 5 non-conference teams from outside the southeast on a home and home basis like we did with Missouri and TAMU when they were both in the Big 12. Southern Cal, UCLA, Stanford, Texas, Penn State, Nebraska, TCU would all make for excellent home and home opponents.

At Auburn twice, but i don't think we played at Mizzou

Aug 10, 2018, 8:47 AM

during that stretch. They came to Clemson in 2000 and got stomped, but I think we played at Mizzou several years earlier during the West era.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Correct. Played at Mizzou in 1998.

Aug 10, 2018, 8:50 AM

And we played at Auburn in 2010 and 2016.

28.6% of Auburn's road games in that period

Aug 10, 2018, 8:52 AM

is made up of losses at Clemson (2011 and 2017).
