Someone's gonna say Johnny Cash covering "Hurt" is good, but it's not.

May 9, 2013, 2:33 PM

I loved the American recordings and was a huge Johnny Cash fan. I also really liked alot of NIN stuff.

When the opening riff started I was blown away. He simply made the song his own. And then the video? Friggin awesome:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmVAWKfJ4Go

BTW, his takes on Personal Jesus and Rusty Cage belong on any cover list as well.

Rusty Cage:

True

May 9, 2013, 2:44 PM

Its a song written by a relatively young man, but never really realized until an old man in poor health facing the losses of both his life and his wife's stole it and made it his own.

and my beloved Blackberry Smoke cannot. Even with a song like Pretty Little Lie, which most country music's target demo can relate to.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Do you want your favorite band to make the radio?

May 9, 2013, 3:48 PM

I don't because I probably would not like them after that. It's really snobby, but the radio bands are not typically bands I like.

2024 purple level memberringofhonor-greenr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I see your point, but my counter point is.

May 9, 2013, 4:09 PM

I'd want the stuff they already have on the radio. This would mean that radio was moving back to a better place.

I do not want them to go any further down the road of making an album that would have radio hits. Zac Brown is really the only "new hit machine." I like.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Haven't heard those yet, as I just started kind of listening
