An "outside the box" look at our offensive woes.

Lets take a look at the AP top 10 and the FCS teams they've played this year.
1. FSU - Citadel (4-7 in FCS) scored a TD against fsu.
2. BAMA - haven't played a FCS school yet.
3. Oregon - South Dakota (2-9 in FCS) scored a TD.
4. Miss. ST. - UT MArtin (5-6 in FCS) scored a TD.
5. TCU - Samford (7-3) scored a TD.
6. Baylor - NW st. (6-5) did not score a TD.
7. Ohio St. - Doesn't play an FCS school this year.
8. Ole Miss - PC (6-5) didn't score.
9. Mich. St. - Jacksonville ST. (9-1) scored a TD.
10. UGA - Haven't played a FCS school yet.
So by my tally 5 out of 7 FCS schools to play against a top 10 ranked team have scored touchdowns against those teams.
Clemson however has 2 games so far this season where they haven't scored an offensive TD.
Note: I like Dabo, Chad, and all of our other coaches and this is in no way an attack on them. Just showing how ridiculous it is that we have 2 games without an offensive TD, especially considering most think of CM as an offensive guru, and we have a ton of skilled athletes on that side of the ball.

Yep, hopefully Morris has a pleasant surprise up his sleeve.

NC State. State is ranked 82nd at 28.8 pts per game allowed. Tech is 45th at 24.1, NC is 125th at 41.2 and SC is 105th at 32.7 pts per game allowed.
This line could would have put up 40+ against Tech this past Saturday. They could put up 40+ against the gamecocks. It depends on the quarterback. If you threw in a quality running back, you could add a score or two to those totals.

I was talking to a friend of mine who played oline in the NFL for 6 years he made some good points he stated he thought it was the scheme more than the talent because theres time when u see a player come in untouched and if u look at the play the O line is either pulling or blocking down in the wrong direction especially with run blocking and our o line is big and strong but not very quick lots of time they get beat to the gap!

Morris is not the offensive guru everyone thinks he is. He does not know how to adjust during the game if his plan is not working, also he is the QB coach who can not coach up any QB. He also wants to one up the other teams defense or like last year in the Usuck game running a stupid trick play with Sammy when we were moving the ball, he wanted to one up Spurlid. His ego is a bad thing.

I think he has to feel the importance of this game and knows that the fans are upset. Maybe this will be enough to keep his ego in check for at least one game. All we need is a gameplan focused around good blocking and fundamental football. No reason to go with flash over substance.

Morris is a Malzahn disciple

Pruitt moved Leonard Floyd to the "Star" position in a subtle tweak to the Bulldogs' defensive scheme and one of the reasons the Bulldogs were able to limit the Tigers to 150 yards on the ground. UGA held Malzahn's offense to 7 pts and under 300 yards total offense for the first time since he arrived at Auburn. That will be a popular game film for AU's opposition moving forward. Floyd last saw time at the "STAR" position in the season opener versus....you guessed it...Clemson who runs a similar offense to Auburn/Malzahn.

yea we know Pruitt is a good def. cord.
He has learned how to stop some of the best offenses in the country. He is def. underpaid considering how many HUNH offenses are in CFB. He should be a hot commodity this offseason.

probably b/c of all our talent at WR
but we haven't brought the elite backs in, and we haven't committed to running the ones we have

bad. Watson is special, and when healthy he compensates for a lot and our O is much better when he's in, but there can be no debate that as a whole, this year our offense has been flat out bad for the most part, and at times just pathetic, and worse than the offenses of some of the much less talented teams we played.

That would be a better analysis.

If that's true then your analysis just became relevant.
Typically teams like that will rest their 2 deep for the entire 4th quarter.
