Awesome -

Would love to see him get some PT by the Syracuse game if he is cleared soon!

I'd seriously question the medical staff

Oct 7, 2014, 1:28 PM

if he got cleared that fast.

Any idea how long it takes to recover from that injury?

Oct 7, 2014, 7:24 PM

Serious question, as I have no idea.

Supposedly a year or so

His injury was reported in early February, IIRC.

Definitely a little on the short side, but he's certainly an athletic build...little different than a 300lb lineman trying to support all that weight on a rehabbed achilles.

But I agree with Penthouse and others - don't rush if he's not ready.

They shouldn't consider playing him until next season.

Please don't rush him back.***

Glad to hear he's out on the field again, but give him plenty of time to get his Achilles stretched back out to where it's supposed to be.

I'll believe he can play when I see it.

I could be wrong, but if he hasn't played any football

Oct 7, 2014, 12:48 PM

or had any real contact for over a year, and still is in a green jersey, then I'd be shocked if he can get any significant PT this season. We could sure use a 100% Tyshon Dye though, and I'm wishing him the best.

If he can play the last 4 games, getting more and more

carries each game, then I think he can have a great bowl game and head into next year as a starter.

We could use a stud back against Scar.

I had mine torn before...it is

a tough injury in that the tendon is back attached after about 6-8 weeks but the calf muscle athrophies and is really weak. It takes a good year or more to get back to 100%. But I'm sure he's getting more constant PT than the normal person so that's on his side and hopefully will speed it up and get him back to 100%.
