Chad Morris = Oliver Purnell

Both are fast paced and flashy, and usually score plenty of points, but neither is built to win against an elite team. OPP couldn't win in the NCAA tournament and Morris' offense puts way too much pressure on our defense when an elite team knocks them off their game.

Our defense is not good our offense kept us all year but our defense is just not stellar. Most Big 12 teams run spreads but they play defense and cover receivers.

And Morris relies on big points being the key to victory while Purnell relied on intense defense and low scoring offense. But other than those things, perfect analogy.

I don't think Chad has learned how to make adjustments. Toward the end of the first half and in the second Usuc started moving Clowney around and using the rabbit blitzing package. Yet, I did not see Chad change the play calling to match. Not many quick slants, curls, screens - quicker developing plays. For the most part we were still trying to chunk it down field a Boyd did not have the time to let them develop.

downfield, Chad didn't make changes to keep SC off balance. Seemed to want a homerun play on every play. Against a team like SC, you have to take what they give you...Quick slants, etc is what he was referring to.

What this guy has done in less than two years is nothing short of amazing at Clemson and one game and you are ready to throw him out?
His offense had the ball 19 times in the entire second half. 19.
Maybe had the defense not given up 11 3rd down conversions, including several 3rd and 8, 9 even a 3rd and 19 they would have scored more.
You have got to touch the ball to score, and with a 40+ min TOP, Carolina bled us to death with dinks and dunks and ball control.
Maybe a few calls were suspect, maybe we should have tried to run the ball more, but in the end our defense couldn't get off the field.
Also, Morris didn't throw two picks or drop 4 passes that hit him in the numbers like our NFL bound recievers did.
Give it a rest.
