this was a fairly one-off scenario, and that just having an outdoor concert doesn't automatically mean snipers firing down from upon high for every single event.

sometime. Stop going to concerts and this guy wins.
The odds of me dying doing what I do every day in my job (driving) are still somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 million times more likely than dying from a shooter at a concert. Also, every day I meet with someone who told their husband, wife, child, whatever goodbye as they left for work not knowing they would never return home. Sobering to know how unpredictable death can be. Best option is to live your life to the fullest and not worry about what will eventually come.

Heard that from some media talking head. Could not figure out what the heck it meant in the context of Vegas, prevention of similar acts or gun control.
Just very sad and just very hard to prevent. Like most big problems no magic wand to wave.
