They waited to announce the gametimes for each until after the matchups were announced.

We are getting no respect as the #1 seed, we face the tougher opponent in Oklahoma and now don't even get prime time.

Honesty, isn't the earlier time slot more convenient for fans?

It allows you to have a pretty normal New Years Eve ringing in the New Year at a bar / with family / etc.

I like the earlier time.

Also I would rather play at 4pm on NYE than 8pm. Can easily watch the game then go about regular NYE festivities.
