Team of the Decade

Do we have an argument for team of the 10's win or lose, or do we have to win January 13 to stake our claim?

I hate you for posting this topic and forcing me to defend Alabama. You only have two and they have four. Even if you do somehow win in January I’m afraid Alabama still takes it. If you do manage to win in January though it sure is hell is gonna look good for the next decade for you..

why do LSU fans suck bama's nut sack

all the time. You lucked up and beat them, why not try your own identity instead of bama's little sister?

Because they live right beside each other on the map and lots of loving goes on when you live right beside each other. That's why.

I don't think we have a very good argument even if we win

Bama won the title in 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2017 plus played in the title game in 2016 and 2018. They lost more than 1 regular season game just twice.
Clemson with a win over LSU would have 3 titles and 1 other title game appearance. Also a losing season in 2010 and 5 seasons with 2 or more regular season losses.
Clemson would have the best half decade (2015-2019).

Even 3/4 decade, but 2010 and 2011 hurt us

Should point out, though, that: Bama .500 vs coots, Clemson .600 Bama .600 vs Auburn, Clemson .800 Bama 0-1 vs Ohio State, Clemson 3-0 (edit per comment below) Bama .500 vs Oklahoma, Clemson 1.000 Head to head .500
And chill out, Baton Rouge, I know I am cherry picking; still fun to discuss, and this IS a Clemson board. By the way, what was your record against these same teams in the 10s? Your head to head vs Clemson?

This debate is why Bama fans are pulling for LSU to win. We represent the biggest threat to them and we beat them twice in the game that counts.
They look at LSU as just a little brother that will run back home and go to their room after this year.

100% agree...someone asked yesterday who Bama would pull
Dec 30, 2019, 2:16 PM

for, and that was exactly my answer - LSU, because they see us as the bigger threat to their throne. They think LSU is a flash in the pan, and that after this aberrational year things will return to their normal order.
That is what they thought about us in 2015, then in 2016, then certainly in 2017, but here we still are.

The Decade isn't over until the end of 2020

A decade is ten years and ends with the year that has a zero. I hate to tell Dabo he is wrong, but you start counting with one and not zero.

You taught me something today; now I have to go back and update those records...but my argument just got stronger
Edit: Alabama and Clemson both lost to South Carolina AND Auburn in 2010, but that does make Bama 1.000 vs coots in the current decade

Alright, this is a silly tangent, but still ...

This is wrong. Did we celebrate the millennium at the end of 1999/2000 or at 2000/2001? Right - 1999. It starts at zero. When you turn 10 years old, you just completed 10 years of living ... you started counting at 0 ... not after you turned 1. Still another example: the 1st century doesn’t refer to 100-199, it is years 0-99.

Still makes no sense to me, but there was apparently never a “year zero”
