wanting to open the country back up so that they could go to work, the media attacked to protestors, mostly for their lack of social distancing. There was no violence, no burning of property no physical attacks. The media concluded that they were selfish and would kill grandma.
A lot of the liberals on Tigernet agreed. We must stay locked down to protect ourselves.
Now that these rioters are filling the streets, attacking police, innocent victims and burning and looting random people's businesses, the media is suddenly in support of the 1st amendment and has dropped the "social distancing" charade. It's amazing how blatantly bias our media has become.
For the most part many leaders in our blue cities have decided not to protect their citizens from destruction and mayhem caused by the out of control mobs. We are left alone to protect our property.
This could get ugly. Shutting down the economy and stealing from those that produce will not end well for those that choose not to produce and only want hand outs. Soon, these blue cities will want us to give them money to pay for he destruction that they allowed to happen. Hopefully, we have enough intestinal fortitude to say no.

SC is seeing a jump in cases even before riots. Greenville County in particular is leading the spike in SC. They've taken the lead from Columbia. Charleston is still the lowest. Lexington has been increasing too. Lexington and Florence have both jumped Charleston.
The virus isn't political. The response to it is. The virus will be taking full advantage of that. The death toll from the virus among the rioters and their families will be far greater than what they're protesting about.

It's their parents and grandparents who died. The virus is getting worse in SC, and that's pretty clear. I just check the numbers every day or so. Don't need the media to tell me it's getting worse. And honestly, for economic gains, we can let it get a little worse. But the deadliest part of these protests (to date anyway), will be from the new virus cases.
235 black people were killed by cops in 2019 in the US. Covid has killed 23,000 black people in 3 months in 2020 in the US. Covid will kill more than 235 Americans as a result of the protests, either directly (some), or indirectly with older family members (many more).

What's really interesting is that many think the riots are justified - because of police brutality. Get that - riots against an innocent third party are justified because of police brutality....
Well, by that same reasoning, that third party is also justified in rioting against those who support the rioting since they have now taken the same position as the police - as the one who has purposed brutality against another. The third party should be justified, now, when they go to the homes of those who support such things with the same freedom to riot against them. Burning their cars and destroying their houses.
I, personally, do not support the rioting or violence that we currently see. Please note, I did not say i do not support protesting.

There are people smashing windows, burning buildings, and overturning cars. You know why the media have dropped "social distancing"? Because when people are doing that, all those social distancing rules go out the window.
These are two separate demonstrations with two separate motives. You think a reporter is going to go up to a looter and ask why he's not wearing a mask?
Also, in what universe do you think this is happening in just "blue cities"?

What’s hilarious are all the social media virtue signalers I see who criticized the Lake Ozark partiers or people wanting to attend church or just go out for dinner a few weeks ago as selfish and tone deaf and the problem with this country, and are now falling all over themselves to post how much they are with the beloved protestors, especially those causing major destruction because they just want to be heard.

brandishing weapons inside their state house, a hall for debate - not violence - yes, that's weak and un-American. Legislation at the point of a gun? You can't possibly buy that as okay in any circumstance, whether there was ever any intent to actually fire a weapon or not. This is how a nation of laws exists and survives. Defending that is nonsense.
Rioters of any form suck. Period. Everybody loses. Protests are another thing. I have yet to read a single media article, from any source, stating that any of these riots is okay, or even justified. I do see a lot of pieces on how riots form and devolve out of certain circumstances, and how it could be expected. These don't condone the behavior, but offer rationale as to whys and hows. The only references I've witnessed to the media or MSM somehow backing riots is from rabble rousing Trumpers saying it's happening. "They want it to happen. They want it to burn. They want the economy to tank." They. They. They. This is one of many issues where this type of illegitimate feedback looping from the Trump mechanism is in effect.
As far as the social distancing charade thing, I've seen numerous references about how these masses are potentially setting re-openings back in these cities and communities. Is it the lead story while buildings are burning, people are being attacked, police assaulted, and businesses looted? Surprisingly it's not. Wow.
If the POTUS could use his position to unite people rather than divide maybe we would see less animosity and national angst. For all the vitriol he tweeted and ginned up during the Kaepernick kneeling incidents (culture war stirring - base frothing), perhaps he could garner an ounce of that 'outrage' when a man is actually murdered (or manslaughtered) by a holder of the public trust to protect and serve.

Did the protesters asking to reopen the state burn buildings, destroy police cars or loot the liquor store? NO.
Did the lefty dems criticize their protests? YES.
