a plus one would be just fine
I think if you're OUTSIDE the top 4 you don't deserve a chance.....ESPECIALLY outside the top 8.....not many will like that opinion, but the top 4 would give the "legit top 2" a chance............we woulda had an oregon vs bama title game which i woulda loved to have seen
i could "listen" to an 8 team playoff but, would still not want it........and no way in heck do i want a 16 team playoff

As long as you have politics and money deciding who the legits are it will not be fair. I can't think of one good reason that it should not be a playoff and at least 16 teams!

just my opinion
I think it takes away from the importance of the regular season
why is college football fun to watch? because EVERY game counts
what i don't like about the NFL is that you can lose 4,5,6 games and still be super bowl champs.........when teams have a spot they want "wrapped up" they play their backups during the last games of the regular season because the game means NOTHING
again i understand others opinions and everybody's entitled to their own, but that's the way i feel...........ESPECIALLY a 16 team playoff would take away from the reg season

or even the chance that UCLA or GT coulda won their leagues this year..........that would be awful
now i do think that you should have to WIN your league to have a chance, but i don't think winning your league makes you deserving of a chance
for example bama DID NOT deserve to play for the title LAST year.........didn't even win their own division, but FSU IMO didn't deserve to play for a national title THIS year had their been a playoff...........they won the league,but had 2 losses

win your conference, you lost the "first round". Takes out ALL of the polling bias and conference bias. Win to get in.
