Again..DW commented that DaBO confused him with signal....

and he just spiked the ball on 3rd down thinking DaBO had signaled to do that.
Saying..I thought DaBO was out of the signal-calling business mostly, and that Tony & Jeff were doing it.
So, IF that is true then why was DWatson looking at DaBO rather than at Jeff?!

Watson gets a lot of credit for his presence of mind on the

field. It's touted as one of his greatest assets.
With that said, he should have known the situation without having to look to the sidelines.
It wasn't like there was any real decision to be made.
He just forgot the down and made a mistake.
Pretty much that simple.

Regardless of what he was looking at, Watson made a mistake. He should know not to spike the ball on third down with a time out in your pocket.

I recall when Deshaun came to the sideline and was talking to Dabo, he pointed down the sideline and made the spike signal with his hand. Dabo then turned and looked down the sideline as well.
I think someone who handles signals confused one of the signals. What is more conscerning to me is that Deshaun (god bless him) didn't seem to be aware of how much time was on the clock which would have led him to question the call or call time out.
I think it's just one of those mental farts that happens to the best players and coaches in the heat of battle....it's not a big deal at this point.
