After re-watching the ND/CLEMSON game several times,

May 21, 2019, 7:55 AM

I am convinced that ND could have beaten Alabama had they paired up in the CFP. That does not change my mind that ND did not deserve to be in the CFP due to not playing that 13th game. If they are not required to play that 13th game, then the teams for the CFP need to be decided PRIOR to the conference championship games. The decision needs to be made fairly to ALL teams. Geez. They need to fix this.

I consider UGA, Bama, ND, Oklahoma, and a few others as being pretty much on the same level - all well below CLEMSON. Re-watching a lot of the games reveals a lot of their weaknesses, and the picture becomes more clear.

Doesn’t matter , Alabama was tired . You have to realize they played 14 games prior to the championship game.

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

Is this another excuse?

I don't think you understand how important it is for Alabama

to make the playoff even if they don't win their division. The 13th game cannot be a requirement. This is not Notre Dame driven. This bored overrates Notre Dame power in College Football.

I kinda agree. I think ND's D could hold Tua in check. However, the more interesting matchup would be ND O vs Bammy's D. Both were not stellar (why one was held to 3 points and the other was torched by 44 with a mercy "no-score" to make it 50+ in the end. I think ND could have a good shot but it really depends if they had a play or two go their way.

That being said, I thought the brides-maids were the rock-paper-scissors of the CFP.

Bammy (Scissors) cuts Oklahoma (Paper) who covers notre Shame (rock) and rock would crush scissors.

But then the 2-4 spots are a great topic since there is no debate about #1

Maybe Notre Dame could schedule Akron next year as the 13th game.

Or take an even easier path by joining the Coastal Division. Same outcome with losing to Clemson but they will get a consolation prize!
