Given the propensity that Auburn (and likely future opponents) have for ripping at Boyd's helmet, I propose the coaches spend a little time the next two weeks on a couple of special plays for Cole.
Create two set plays, call them Ripoff 1 and Ripoff 2 for Cole's snap while Boyd has to sit. Quick release, high percentage plays that will burn the opponent, depending where they're bringing extra pressure to try and sack Cole.
End result: maybe, just maybe folks will quit ripping at Boyd's head.

built into the new rule to keep players from using "ripping his helmet off" as a way of getting players off the field for a play.
The Auburn players were gouging at his eyes and pulling at his helmet every chance they could.
They still lost.

I assume they have some of his best plays ready to go, ala BC game last year.
Did other teams seem to have this problem? I watched a few games and saw some of the helmet stuff, but did not see the consistent problem we seemed to have.

The Refs are going to have to severely penalized teams that pull off helmets after the tackle to stop it.

a few years back, there was a RB from San Fran? N.O.? who had a secondary protective shell on top of the regular helmet; i think it was because of concussion. Give one to Boyd - they twist and the top layer peels off.
The ref's have got to stop that. Someone will end up with a serious problem.
