And yes I do receive from the government. 43 years of working my liberal butt off and I am glad to get my SS check every month. Maybe we can finally get some cooperation from the GOP obstacles in Congress.

U are NOT on the govn "###" on SS!! U worked for that just like I did.The problem is all those that have never contributed in any way. They have bunches of kids for us to pay for that also never contribute one single thing to the USA.

Most people who reach retirement age today can expect to draw more in Social Security than they paid in over the years. That is why it would be insolvent eventually, even if the government had not already raided the trust fund. Typically you have paid in only enough to support you for five years.

I would argue that the Democrats in charge are working hard to devalue that dollar they 'pay you back' in the future, and you will get back less in spending power than you put in.
The sad but funny part of this is that those on Social Security that support Obama just voted themselves less spending power in the future and most are too stupid to understand it.

If you have been on Social Security and medicare for more than 5 years, you have probably used up every cent you ever "paid in." The government does not pay you interest on what you pay in Social security. So after five years you are actually on welfare. That is why Social security is destined to collapse. Bush tried to fix the problem by allowing us to invest our retirement savings, but the AARP told seniors that he was doing away with SS and the ignorant fools believed it. Just like the ignorant fools who believed the Democrats and put an anti-American socialist back in the White House.
