According to 247, our greatest basketball recruits are pretty underwhelming

#1 Milton Jennings

He never was able to live up to his McDonald's all-American status. I did meet him once in Charleston before his senior year, and the guy couldn't have been nicer.

#2 Noel Johnson

Played two underwhelming years at Clemson before transferring to Auburn.

#3 Bernard Sullivan

Another transfer after two underwhelming years at Clemson. He does have the unique distinction of being the only basketball player I know of to have their career ended due to multiple concussions.

#4 Devin Booker

Serviceable but no Trevor. We were told he'd be better than his brother. Another disappointment.

#5 James Mays

Injuries and academic ineligibility didn't allow him to reach his full potential, but FINALLY, we get to a player I have fond memories of in a Clemson uniform.

#6 Catalin Baciu

WHAT THE F%#&?! F%#& it! I quit!

Inside track with Merl Code and cleaned up to make that list look as good as Rick Pitinos, right???

How far does that list go back?

Sharone Wright was a 5 star, pretty darn good. Dale Davis was a huge get recruiting wise. Tree? Wise? Stan Rome?

Granted. Most of our greatest players were guys less heralded we developed. But we've signed some high end guys who were big time as well

Horace Grant, Larry Nance, and Greg Buckner are ...

... among Clemsons best recruits and we were pretty much the ONLY ones to offer them.

Developmental diamonds in the rough ...

That’s basically Clemson basketball in a nutshell.

Dale wasn't a huge recruit because he was so raw that the even UGA didn't push to get him despite offering. Dale was a project with a high ceiling that he maximized, and actually continued to grow on campus, he was right at 6'9 coming in.
speaking of Dale, his son doesn't have Clemson in his final six... and I wonder if he has given us any thoughts...

that list looks like it only goes back about 10 years...

forgive my age, but Elden Campbell was a top 150 recruit, along with Sharone Wright, Donte Grantham, Amir Simms(?), KC Rivers, Skip Wise, Tree Rollins, Greg Buckner, Devin Gray...

what's the link for that article tigerfanatic12?
